Spices are the most specification-sensitive category in Indian agri exports. Buyers who define analytical limits up front avoid rejections at destination ports.
Product-specific quality benchmarks
Turmeric
Curcumin content typically ranges from 2% to 5% depending on origin. Fingers and powder are quoted separately, with polished or unpolished finger options.
Chilli, cumin and coriander
Chilli is graded by ASTA colour value and Scoville heat; cumin by purity percentage after machine cleaning; coriander by seed size and volatile oil content.
Laboratory testing that protects your shipment
- Pesticide residue screening against destination-market MRLs
- Aflatoxin and microbiological testing
- Moisture and volatile oil analysis
- Heavy metal screening for retail-bound lots
Packaging for spice integrity
Multi-wall paper bags, food-grade PP and jute with inner liners protect aroma and prevent moisture pickup. Retail private-label packs are available for supermarket programmes.
Ordering and MOQ
Spices are supplied on request against buyer specification. Trial part loads start from 5 MT, with full 20ft (18–20 MT) and 40ft (26–28 MT) containers for repeat programmes.
